Even if kidney transplant is not possible, you can get long life on peritoneal dialysis

Emergency units made in every hospital

Due to kidney failure, many people think that kidney transplant is needed to save life. Long life can be achieved even if the kidney donor is not in the family. This may be possible through peritoneal dialysis. Neena Chowdhary is living a good life on home dialysis (peritoneal dialysis) since 14 years. In an awareness program organized on World Kidney Day at Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Neena told that she was earlier on hemodialysis but for this one has to go to the hospital. Now I am on home dialysis, there is no problem of any kind. Head of the Department of Nephrology, Prof. Narayan Prasad and Prof. Dharmendra Bhadoria said that more than 100 kidney patients in whom kidney transplant could not be done due to any reason are leading a good life on home dialysis. Awareness rally, poster competition was also organized on this occasion. Experts say the theme for this year's World Kidney Day is Kidney Health for All, Key to the Unexpected

Preparedness and support of the vulnerable. Said can be unforeseen events (earthquake, flood, war, extreme weather) or global (like Kovid) pandemic. The death toll increases suddenly in an earthquake, and the injuries increase. Such myoglobinuria, use of painkillers and skin dryness increase the number of kidney patients. Resources are needed to save their lives. Already the resource is short of trained manpower and dialysis equipment. It increases. Advisor to the International Kidney Society and former Indian Kidney Society Secretary, Prof. Narayan Prasad said that the government should set up a medical emergency room in every district, which would help in times of disaster. Society of Nephrology prepared guidelines for managing acute kidney injury patients. Requires dialysis and cannot live without dialysis for more than 3 to 4 days.
