49-year-old Prem Shankar from Kanpur was a victim of stomach cancer twice. Gastro surgeon of Sanjay Gandhi PGI saved life twice with surgery and chemotherapy. Everything was going well but after 10 years his hemoglobin dropped again to five. When Prem Shankar came to the gastro surgeon of the institute, it was found that for the third time also the cancer has spread to the large intestine on the left side of the stomach. This time the place is different. Surgery was the only treatment for which Planning Prof. Ashok Kumar teamed up as this surgery was very complicated. Complicated surgery was done twice. The third time the cancer had spread to the places where the organs were joined after the first surgery. Pro. According to Ashok, when the stomach was opened under planning, the cancer (tumour) was not visible because the intestines were badly stuck together. First, after separating the intestine, the tumor was found, then along with this tumor, the cancer spread nearby, the lymph node was removed. After this, in the first surgery which was done in 2009, in which the bile duct, pancreatic duct and stomach were added, cancer cells had also spread. That part was taken out. The tubes were rerouted. In this way the surgery was completed in two steps which lasted for seven hours. Prem Shankar ji is completely fine now after the surgery. He has also been discharged from the hospital. Chemotherapy is being planned ahead, although the report is satisfactory.

It has been seen that surgeons refrain from doing surgery in case of cancer for the third time because success is very less. Surgery is also complicated. We accepted this challenge and got success. We are going to report this case in Nation International Journal. After cancer surgery, there should be continuous follow-up so that if there is any problem again, it can be detected earlier.

Cancer is happening again and again. For the first time in the duodenum (near the pancreas), for the second time in the large intestine on the right side, this time in the large intestine on the left side. There may be a genetic reason behind this, which we are doing research to find out.
