Gandhi PGI's Clinical Immunology Department's Foundation Day and Alumni Meet
was organized. On this occasion, Prof. Sita Naik, who was the founder of the
department and the foundation of the institute, told how this department came
into existence. At that time it was the first department of the country which
was established, the first DM student of the country also came out of this
department but the department did not get permission from the Medical Council
of India. It took a lot of struggle to get this permission. Prof. RN Mishra
told that at that time everything had to be done manually in order to see the
patient and to find out the disease in the patients, it took a lot of effort to
set up the test, today the era of automation has come, all the kits are made.
Earlier everything had to be prepared in the lab. Dr. Banwari Lal Sharma, Dr.
Sajjan, Dr. Parashar Ghosh, Dr. Vaidehi, Dr. Sinoy, Dr. Arun Gupta, Dr. Sandeep
Upadhyay,dr sapan pandya recalling the old days in the department said that the
DM course here was very contemporary. Every kind of knowledge was given, the
benefit of which we are getting today. , Presently Dr. Vaidehi, who is living
in America, came to the Institute after 25 years to see the hostel she was
staying in and as soon as she reached the hostel, she said, "Hey, we used
to live in the same room, everything has changed, but the color of the hostel
wall has not changed." Took selfie there instead. Dr. Varun Dhir and Dr boni
refreshed all the memories during his DM course, Head of Department Prof. Amita
Agarwal told that we are also students here, did DM from here and became
faculty here. Even today the experience of the senior here is useful to me.
Senior Technical Officer AK Gupta Rajeshwar Dayal told how the department
started in a single room in the administrative building and today the
department has 4 big labs.

Meet of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology of PGI once
again got the old colleagues to remember their old days and talk about them,

dialogues, almost all obtained DM degree from PGI itself and are working in
different provinces, while some are running their own hospital. With the
untiring efforts of Dr. Amita Agarwal, head of the department, all the

everyone was shocked, Dr. Naik, famous as a bold administrative, was feared by
the top officials from the institute to the government, his Loud voice and

Dwivedi told how Dr. Ram Nath helped him in the work of the lab by holding his
hand. Skilled, he told in a crowded gathering how to convert one gram solution
into hundred gram solution, everyone started laughing. When it came to
administrative action, everyone told many such things in their own style,
listening to which the atmosphere became emotional, the game was also enjoyed
in the sun, including Dr. Mishra, Dr. Koshi, everyone had a lot of fun with the
ball and bat on the field. At the end, the meet concluded with lunch organized
at the guest house, Rajeshwar Dayal, RK Gupta, Arvind Srivastava, Rajesh Yadav,
Rizwan, Ajit Suresh, Govind Sushil and all the employees were present.
