37% farmers do not know that pesticides can prove fatal for them. All such information has come to the fore after research on the farmers of Lucknow district. Due to lack of information and awareness, farmers do not take precautions while using pesticides, which increases the risk of skin and nervous system diseases. Research was done on 387 farmers in which many facts have come to the fore. Research scientists have said that insecticides contain the highest concentration of chemicals. Therefore, it is imperative that farmers are aware of the right usage and toxic effects of chemicals to save themselves and the environment. The present study shows that information on pesticide labels is not effective for farmers. They need to be educated in alternative ways. It was observed that 42.6 percent of the farmers keep pesticides in their homes, due to which there is a possibility of danger in the small children of the house. The remaining pesticides are also not disposed of properly.
