Pgi Free consultation and medicines will be provided to Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C patien

 






The treatment center under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (NVHCP) was inaugurated today under the aegis of the Department of Hepatology, SGPGIMS, Lucknow. Under the program, free DNA testing for Hepatitis B and RNA testing for Hepatitis C will be done. Free consultation and medicines will be provided to Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C patients. The program aims to combat hepatitis and achieve countrywide elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030. The patients willing to avail these services need to register themselves in Hepatology OPD on Monday and Friday.

        The NVHCP center inauguration was attended by Dr. Brijesh Rathore (UP-DGMH), Dean of SGPGIMS Prof. Shaleen Kumar, Medical Superintendent Prof. V.K. Paliwal, Prof. Rajan Saxena (HOD Surgical gastroenterology), Dr. Vikasendu Agarwal (Nodal Officer UP-NVHCP), Prof. Amit Goel (HOD Hepatology), Assistant Profs Hepatology Dr. Surender Singh and Dr. Ajay Mishra. The Director, SGPGI Professor R K Dhiman expressed his happiness on this initiative taken by the department and hoped that patients suffering with Hepatitis B and C will be benefitted by free investigations and treatment facilities under this progr
