PGI discovered the reason  of Asities in liver failure patients

Will reduce intestinal inflammation and provide relief to liver failure patients.

Lactose and mannitol ratio will tell how serious the problem is

Clinical and Medical  scientists of Sanjay Gandhi PGI And Centre For Bio medical Research have found a way to reduce the severity of liver failure patients. Scientists have discovered that in case of liver failure, the stomach gets filled with water, which is called ascites in medical language. The intestine is responsible for filling water in the stomach. The intestine becomes inflamed due to which the permeability of the intestine increases due to which the intestinal bacteria enter the bloodstream. This causes infection. The vessels for blood flow widen due to which the stomach fills with water. The disease becomes serious. Scientists took blood and urine samples of two hundred liver failure patients and conducted NMR (Nuclear Magnetic) and ELISA tests. The ratio of lactose and mannitol in urine was observed which was found increased. This increases intestinal permeability. By doing the ELISA test, it was found that cytokines (a type of special chemicals) including TNF alpha, IFN gamma, IL-6 were increased in the blood, which proves that the bacteria enter the bloodstream from the intestine and cause infection. Research scientists say that this research has made it clear that to reduce liver problems, focus will have to be on the intestines. This requires inflammation of the intestine. For this also, we developed a treatment protocol through which more than a hundred patients have got relief. This treatment protocol benefits patients who are not in a position to undergo liver transplantation. Even after liver failure, life increases for some time without any problems.
